  • Leaves - Coriaceous, elliptic oblong or lanceolate. Nerves - pale yellow brown. Flowers - Ellipsoid. Male flowers are seen in supra axillary racemes. Fruit - Ovoid, sub globose or pyriform. Useful part - Seed and Aril.

    A paste of nutmeg made with water or milk is applied externally to treat pimples and acne scar. A very tiny piece of nutmeg can be used in preparing food in babies above 9 months to treat cold and cough.
