Program Overview

BAMS is a traditional Ayurveda-based undergraduate medical program that trains students to become Ayurvedic doctors with both traditional knowledge and modern medical understanding in India. The degree is awarded after 5.5 years, including 4.5 years of academics and a 1-year internship. The program helps you learn Ayurveda theory, along with its practical use in real-life situations, helping you confidently handle patients and treatments.

Course Structure

The BAMS course is structured into three professional years of 1.5 years each, followed by a one-year compulsory internship for practical training.

Admissions and Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for this program must fulfil the following criteria:

In India, NEET is mandatory for admission to medical courses, including BAMS.
Admission to the BAMS program is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
After the NEET examination, centralized counselling is conducted for seat allocation based on performance.
Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with 50% marks in each subject, as per NCISM / State Government norms.
Final selection is based on combined merit of NEET score and 12th class marks.
