Basic Life Support Lecture-cum-Demonstration Programme
Ishan Ayurvedic Medical College and Research Centre organized a Lecture-cum-Demonstration Programme on Basic Life Support (BLS) on 24 September 2026. The programme was organized to familiarize students with essential skills required to respond effectively during medical emergencies and life-threatening situations.
The session was led by Dr. Vinay Aggarwal, Senior Consultant – Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine and Professor of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at Kailash Healthcare. Through an informative lecture and practical demonstration, students were introduced to the basic principles of Basic Life Support and the importance of timely intervention during emergencies.
The session focused on developing awareness about immediate care and appropriate responses before professional medical assistance becomes available. The practical demonstration helped students understand the application of BLS techniques more effectively and encouraged them to actively participate in the learning process.
Such programmes provide students with valuable exposure beyond regular classroom teaching and help them develop practical skills that can be useful in both professional and everyday situations. The session also emphasized the importance of remaining calm, acting responsibly, and responding promptly during emergency situations.
The programme concluded with an emphasis on the importance of learning basic life-saving techniques and being prepared to provide appropriate assistance when faced with an emergency.
